One of the biggest challenges in the world of aquaria is what is called "reefkeeping". While the majority of our planet is covered with saltwater, there is a percentage of a percentage of special areas where amazing creatures exist. These are coral reefs. A slightly-crazy breed of aquarium enthusists are dedicated to creating what are called "reef tanks", maintaining very delicate ecosystems and propogating corals and other rare marine life. This site is dedicated to my appreciation of this combination of science and art.

Close up of the new Gorgonian. This guy is not photosynthetic.

My new Galaxia SP from FFX. He's doing very well and flouresces, though I keep him up high near the MH because he likes light and current. This is when I first put him into the tank before he started to open up (see below).

The Galaxia SP. a bit more opened up.

Rare, painted fairy wrasse. He's always watching me when I move around the room. He sleeps curled up with his eyes open - kinda creepy cause he looks like he's dead - scared me there for a moment. When I first put him in the tank I didn't think he'd make it - he didn't handle the shipping well but he came around and is going well now.
